Hello, I’m Reinier Doelman
I recently obtained my PhD from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
My research for my dissertation was focused on developing optimization methods for estimation problems in optics.
As such, my research interests lie in a mix of convex and non-convex optimization, optical applications, and (machine learning) methods to estimate system dynamics.
The methods I developed for my dissertation have a much broader application than just optimization problems in optics. As can be seen from the posts I’ve written, the techniques have applicability in Operations Research, Machine Learning, and even solving sudoku’s.
Previously I obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering (Delft University of Technology), an LLB in Dutch Law (Leiden University), and an MSc in Systems and Control Engineering (Delft University of Technology).
